Third Nation Meeting of the Fall semester 2024-11-26

Dear SSKers!

On Tuesday, November 26th, the third regular Nation Meeting of the fall semester will take place. During this nation meeting, elections of positions of trust within the Senior College, the Election Committee, the Mastery and the House Board will be held. Filling elections of positions of trust within the Mastery will also be held.

Apply for posts

Positions within the Foreman Corps are no longer elected at the Nation Meeting, but are prepared and elected by the Senior College. To apply for a position in the Foreman Corps, fill in this form.

Positions within the Senior College, the House Board and the Election Committee cannot be applied for by free nomination at the meeting, but must either go through the Election Committee or be counter-candidated by notifying the Qurator in writing no later than three (3) days before the Nation Meeting, i.e. Saturday, November 23.

Positions within the Mastery can be run for by free nomination at the Nation Meeting.

The nomination committee process

The Nomination Committee will hold interviews with candidates between November 11 and November 20. As the Nomination Committee is not quorate, no recommendations will be made. Positions must therefore be counter-candidated by all applicants.

Read the Nomination Committee election process.

Counter-candidacies

Please note that all counter-candidacies are against vacancies as the Election Committee does not have a qourum.

Maja Andersson – Seniorsledamot

Ture Simonsson – Sexmästare

Valdemar Winberg – Sexmästare

Tilda Kurki – Vieriförman

Matters to be raised at the Nations Meeting

Proposals for matters to be raised at the Nations Meeting should have been received by the Qurator in writing no later than twelve (12) days before the Nations Meeting, i.e. Thursday, November 14. The notice and the agenda can be found below. The National Assembly may not deal with matters not included on the agenda unless it is directly related to a matter already included on the agenda.

The following member motion was received at the national meeting:

Declaration of no confidence in Qurator Noa Liungman

  • Seniorskollegiet urges rejection: “Seniorskollegiet has read the motion in full and reviewed the content. A unified Senior College has continued confidence in Noa Liungman as Qurator and therefore does not support the declaration of no confidence.”

Four more motions were submitted to the Qurator to be raised at the Nation Meeting. These have all previously been deemed incompatible with the nation’s statutes and will therefore not be raised at the Nation Meeting. If you want to read the motions, you can visit Expen and read them there.

The following matters are presented by the Senior College:

Audit

Activity Report HT23

Activity Report VT24

Nation fee VT25

Change of statutes

Other information

The nation meeting will be held on November 26 at 18:00 in Gasquesalen in Kårhuset, Sölvegatan 22B, 223 62 Lund. The reason for another place than at the nation is that we expect large participation, and our regular room is not fireproof for more than 100 people. Members with a STUK card and valid ID have the right to attend, speak, propose and vote.
