When the ice breaks, the Sydskåningar go to a bal!
On March 7, we open the doors for the Knävlingagillet 2020. This spring, Sydskånska Nationen celebrates 130 years! Sydskånska nationen therefore welcomes alumni, members and friends to an evening filled with singing and entertainment. After dinner, the festivities continue with dancing and sexa.
Knävlingagillet was founded in 1967 by Anders Mårtensson and Catharina Markborn and is now held every year at the end of winter. The reason for the guild is that Skåne’s farmers were seen once a year to settle their debts. All the peasants each had “Knävling”, a wooden tray in which debts and claims were engraved, in their ownership and when regulating the debts they kept a guy, the Knävlingagillet.
